Anxiety is not an illness in the way it is often labelled. Anxiety is a way of grouping a number of symptoms together and hoping that it can be treated with anti-depressants, SSRI’s, psychotherapy or cognitive therapy. Well it is not as straightforward as that. You see this ‘one for all’ type approach is what limits people from overcoming their debilitating symptoms.Anxiety is not what needs treating; it is, in fact the underlying cause that is what needs treating. But we have to heed a warning as to how we approach this. You see, if we go down this route using traditional cognitive therapies, they can end up delving into the past or directly into the issues, and for a lot of people this ends up feeding the issues with more energy.
So what is the alternative? The alternative non-cognitive approach is to address it from an energy circuitry level. Briefly explained, each person is currently wired based on his or her life’s experience to date. Depending on what that entails can have an affect on how our body’s mind, body, energy system store information, retrieve it. This ultimately affects our perception of the issue(s) and the environment that we find ourselves living in.
It is no different to how we store information on a computer. Over time we know we get corrupted documents, others being filed in wrong folders, formulas going out of kilter and so on. So what we endeavour to do is to spring clean our computer on a regular basis which includes defragmentating the hard disc with a program called defrag.
